Stevens Memorial Library’s no-contact Curbside Pickup is available by appointment while the building operates under  COVID-19 safety protocols. Use Curbside Pickup to pick up items you have on hold.

For Curbside Pickup questions or assistance, please email or call 978-688-9508.

If you have items available for pickup and are making an appointment for a library visit, please coordinate a curbside pickup appointment before or after your library visit appointment. You may not be able to retrieve your items during the library visit appointment.

All materials must be reserved ahead of pickup.
You will be notified, by call / email / text, when your items are ready.

Placing Orders

You may use any or all of these methods, found via the Library’s website, to reserve materials:

  • The Library’s online catalog.
  • The Blue Cloud Mobile App.
  • Reader’s Request Form (our method to help you “browse” when you don’t have a specific book in mind).
  • Questions? email or call 978-688-9505 for assistance.

Your Pickup Appointment

  • When your materials are ready for pickup, you will receive a call, email, or text with instructions to schedule your pickup appointment via our Contactless Pickup calendar.
  • You will make an appointment for a specific day and half-hour time slot.
  • If you need to cancel your appointment, please notify us immediately (by calling or emailing Stevens- Circulation
  • If you will be walking to pick up your materials and not driving, please tell us when we make your appointment.
  • If you are picking up materials for others, please tell us when we make your appointment. You must have the library card number(s) of the other person during the appointment call.

When You Are Curbside, Please …

  • Come to the Greene Street parking spaces (aka the head-in parking spaces).
  • Park in a curbside pickup parking space.
  • Call the Library phone number in your appointment to let us know you have arrived.
    • No cell phone? Please call from home to let us know you are on your way.
  • Do not leave your vehicle.
  • Open your trunk.
  • Your materials will be placed in your trunk in a brown paper bag.
  • Your materials will already be checked out on your Library card.

What if I only have a Stevens E-Card?

What can I borrow?

  • You can borrow any books through the Merrimack Valley Library Consortium. Items in the Commonwealth Catalog are currently unavailable.

I am not sure what I want …

  • Use our Reader’s Request Form on the Library’s website to tell us what you like to read, authors or titles you have already enjoyed, and preferred format: book, large print book, audiobook, etc.

The books I want are checked out. How can I get them?

  • You may place holds for items that are checked out and your request(s) will be filled when the materials are available.
  • Wait times may be longer because all materials are quarantined for a time before they are returned to the shelves or checked out again.

Can I schedule simultaneous pickups for other people?

  • When confirming your pickup appointment, please tell us if you are picking up materials for others.
  • You must have the library card number(s) of the other person during the pickup appointment call.

How do I return materials?

  • Our book drops opened on June 22nd.
  • If you have an item (e.g., music instrument, telescope) that cannot be returned in the book drop, please email Erin Wolff ( to make arrangements.

Can I return Stevens materials to other MVLC libraries?

  • Yes.

What about due dates, fines, or fees?

  • All due dates for materials checked out before the Library closed have been extended. The first due dates will be July 1st.
  • Stevens does not charge fines. Only lost or damaged materials fees are collected.
  • Other MVLC libraries may have different policies. Please contact the library who owns the material to find out their policies and make any arrangements necessary.
  • Payments may be made online using your Library My Account from the Library website. The Library is not collecting cash or checks at this time. If you need assistance, please email and you will be contacted.

I returned my items but they are still showing on my account.

  • In order to ensure the safety of library staff all returned items are placed in quarantine before being checked in. Items will still appear on your record during this time.
  • Email if you have a specific question about materials.

How do I renew books?

  • You can log into My Account from the Library website using your library card number and PIN.

Are materials sanitized?

  • All materials are quarantined for a time before they are returned to the shelves or checked out again.
  • Library staff will have touched the materials when filling your request.
  • Library staff in the building are following Town of North Andover safety protocols, which are based on Massachusetts Public Health guidelines and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners guidelines.
  • Please do not “sanitize” materials as this may damage the materials. Damaged materials will be charged to your account.

What about donations?

  • Donations cannot be left at the Library building until further notice.
  • The Friends of the Stevens Memorial Library are working to arrange other locations to take donations. Please visit their page for more information.
