Online Databases & E-Books

the Reference Department of the Stevens Memorial Library offers a wide variety of electronic resources to meet your informational needs. Library Patrons  have access to online databases and other electronic resources through the Merrimack Valley Library Consortium (MVLC)The Northeast Massachusetts Regional Library System (NMRLS), and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC). In addition to online access to newspapers, magazines, and journal articles, the Library provides access to downloadable e-books and audio books through Overdrive and Safari Books Online, an on-demand digital library providing 3,989 technology, digital media and business books and videos online.


The Library also offers readers’ advisory lists, reviews, and recommendations through NextReads and BookLetters. Stay informed about what’s new and what’s popular by subscribing to NextReads and BookLetters e-newsletters.

MASS CISMASS CIS is a system which provides comprehensive information about the worlds of work and education for career planners of all ages. MASSCIS is a product/service of the Massachusetts Occupational Information Coordinating Committee (MOICC) within the Massachusetts Division of Employment and Training (DET).

Their goal is to provide information to help students and adults explore their career and educational options. MASSCIS is being used in all DET Offices and Career Centers. It is also used in many high schools, community colleges, colleges, and various other sites.
