- Loan Periods
- Some reference books may go out overnight with the Reference Librarian’s authorization.
- Rental books are checked out indefinitely for 25 cents a day. Every day is counted in the calculation of the fee — the day it is checked out, each weekend day, holidays, and the day it is returned. The rental fee will not exceed the cost of the book.
- Extended loan periods may be granted with permission from the Children’s Librarian or the Head of Circulation provided there are no reserves on the material.
- All videos may be checked out for 7 days and may be returned in the bookdrop.
- Reserves
- Reserves may be placed on materials that are in circulation by filling out a reserve request form. Reserves may be placed in person or by phone.
- When the reserved item is returned, the patron is notified by phone or postcard, for which there is a 25-cent postage fee.
- Fines
- A patron who has exceeded the fine threshhold of $1 loses his borrowing privileges until the fine total is cleared.
- The library is allowed to collect up to $10 in fine money which is due at another library.
- If a patron returns materials 3 weeks and 4 days after they were taken out, he/she will be charged for 4 days’ fines.
- Overdues
- Materials are overdue three days after they are due back, which means fines will be collected.
- Materials kept out past the third notice (bill notice) means loss of borrowing privileges.
- Fifteen items not returned after the first notice sent means loss of borrowing privileges.
- Damaged and Lost Items
- Materials lost, stolen or damaged, etc. are the responsibility of borrowers and must be paid for by them. Once an item is paid for no refund will be given.
